The O-Shot® and Urinary Incontinence
As women age urinary incontinence becomes more common. This is especially true for Stress Urinary incontinence where urine leaks when you exert pressure on your bladder by coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or lifting something heavy. It is caused by a weakening of the muscular tissue which controls the retention and flow of urine. Unlike men, women do not have a complete muscular urethral sphincter (the “on/off valve”), and therefore cannot fully control their urine flow. The O-Shot's regenerative properties strengthens this specific muscle and often significantly improves urinary control.

Our O-Shot® procedure

BAIW's O-Shot is performed in our comfortable office and is less than 1 hour in total duration. First, Irena will draw blood from your arm and prepare your PRP. Then a topical numbing cream will be applied on your vagina to ensure an overall comfortable procedure. After about 20 minutes the PRP will be ready and the numbing cream will be active. Irena places injections of your PRP into the vagina and clitoris. That's it. The only side effects may be minor and temporary bruising, swelling and tenderness. Most women need a day or two of rest after the treatment before they are ready for intercourse.

After the O-Shot your body slowly begins the process of the regeneration of the tissue of the vagina. Initial results are typically noticed at 3 weeks and full effect is between 8-12 weeks. Results will vary for each woman and are most effective for those who follow our post-treatment protocol carefully. Many report the benefits lasting a year or more, while some women prefer 2 treatments per year.
