What are derma-fillers?
Derma-fillers are natural gel fillers that are used to enhance and volumize areas of the body such as cheeks, eyes, lips and nose. Derma-fillers can be placed at multiple depths in the skin to fill lines, wrinkles and correct mild to moderate volume loss.  Boulder Aesthetics & Intimate Wellness' (BAIW) FDA approved derma-fillers produce effective and natural results when injected by an experienced practitioner, like Irena Fomenko.  Irena uses her 25 years of experience to evaluate your facial anatomy and aesthetic proportions to determine the correct amount and placement needed to treat your specific concerns. ​
Derma-fillers contain Hyaluronic acid, or HA, which is a natural substance in the body that delivers volume to the skin.  At BAIW we use a variety of derma-fillers, such as Juvederm, for different purposes. Derma-filler can be used as a stand-alone treatment or combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in our Vampire Facelift and Vampire Breastlift procedures.

What is the procedure like?
First Irena will consult with you regarding your goals and areas of concern.  Small doses of derma-filler are injected into the skin at strategic locations.  The entire procedure lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. The number of injections and dose type/amounts administered varies for each person.  The treatment might create some discomfort such as a normal poke that comes with a small needle.  A numbing cream may be applied if necessary. 
After treatment, mild swelling and bruising may appear on the injection spots.  The redness and swelling will only last for a few hours, but some may experience bruising for several days. The results from derma-filler injections are instantaneous and can last an average of one year.
